Food Waste Prevention Week · 28 September–4 October 2026
Good food. Local people. A little less waste.
From collecting surplus food to sharing a recipe, small acts of kindness help good food go further. This Food Waste Prevention Week, we’re celebrating the volunteers, food donors and neighbours who make our community fridge possible.
Our food heroes are all around us
The 2026 campaign’s theme is Food Heroes in Your Neighbourhood. Here in Windsor, that means the people who collect, sort and share surplus food, the shops and local bakeries that donate it, and everyone who takes it home and puts it to good use.
At Driven Forward, food rescue brings people together. We give good food another chance to be enjoyed, help household budgets go further and offer a friendly welcome.
Thank you to everyone who helps keep good food in our community and out of the bin.

Little things that make a difference
